What can a parent/guardian observer do in Canvas?

Canvas parent observers can:

• view their student's courses (once published).
• see course announcements.
• see assignments for their students
• review assignments and events in a calendar
• monitor course interactions between their student and the instructor 
• view grades given if an assignment is scored in Canvas

Canvas parent observers cannot:

• submit work on behalf of the students they observe
• see interactions and work of other students in a course
• view Google Documents that are shared only with students (permission in Google do not allow for this).
• view grades not scored in Canvas. Skyward is still the official site to check your student's grades.
